Lately I've been feeling a little homesick for my home state of Arkansas. I think it's because of how much I like this time of year there-- it truly is gorgeous. Usually my family organizes some sort of fall hike and I have just been craving to go on one. Instead, I just looked through some old pictures of a trip we made a few years back. We stayed at a little motel called the "Lazy Apple" and I just loved that name. The first day we went hiking through an area known as the Pedestal Rocks trail. More pictures below

I got this blouse the other day and was drawn to the small golden studs used as buttons (they didn't really show up in pictures apparently : / ) I just liked the stud trend incorporated in a subtle way because I am not one for loud or showy pieces. But perhaps I make exceptions for hats! I am also living in these leggings from Zara because they are thick and comfortable and go with everything. Anyway, this was just a pretty simple monochromatic outfit for a cool fall day in the city. I actually wore this last Friday to meet up with some friends at the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn-- very hip!

I've also incorporated more reds and deeper colors into my makeup routine. Lately I've been loving the Revlon Lip Butters, in particular the shade Cherry Tart, my Tarte blush in Natural Beauty, and my Nars eyeshadow in Galapagos. The eyeshadow was pretty pricey, but it such a versatile color and applies so smoothly. I've really been loving lately!
And lastly, these burnt-orange loafers by Dolce Vita I got from T.J. Maxx way on sale! Very appropriate for the season I'd say.

Pinterest is the perfect place to find inspiration. Recently I stumbled upon this photo and loved this simple, yet stunning, eye makeup look and decide to do my best to recreate it with the products that I have. I never got into makeup and beauty products until about a year ago, but now I am really starting to find it quite fun.
I just used Mac's bare study paint pot as an eyelid base. A satiny-taupe color in the crease. I did my best attempt for a slightly winged eyeliner effect with black liquid liner. Too really brighten my eyes I lined my lower lash line with a white eyeliner. And to finish it off, I applied Nars blush in deep throat to the apples of my cheeks.
